Training Objectives:

The Diploma in Tourism & Airport Operations (DTAO) has been designed to meet the needs of applicants considering entry into operational positions within the Tourism & Airline industry. This comprehensive program provides the students with a broad practical understanding of travel, tourism & airport operations.

Introduction to Travel and Tourism

1. Develop students as travel and tour consultants with operational skills to work for travel and tours sectors in the tourism industry, global travel industry.
2. Management of International air transport association and learn how IATA by region works in the industry.
3. Acquire knowledge about United Federation of Travel Agents Association (UFTAA) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
4. Learn Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) and freedoms of the Air policy and IATA Terms & Definitions for Travel Industry.
5. Understand Commercial Aircraft Manufacturers and universal time coordinated (UTC) & types of fares.

Geography in Travel Planning

1. Learn World Map air routes and geography in travel industry.
2. Understand IATA traffic rules and regulations.

Geography in Travel Planning

1. Learn customer service in the travel industry & communicating with customers. How to deal with difficult customers & retain customer loyalty handling. An intensive writing course that exposes students to all types of public relations writing including news releases, brochures, speeches, newsletters, annual reports, case studies, advertising copy, memos and crisis communication.
2. Learn about the issues affecting the planning and development of tourism by understanding tourism, hospitality and sustainable development. Develop and critically evaluate issues, challenges, opportunities, and solutions of sustainability, and tourism and hospitality. Core elements include discussion on tourism impacts (economic, social, and environmental), issues of sustainability, performance measurement & monitoring, eco-tourism, and other tourism with a comprehensive understanding of how sustainability can be applied to different sectors of tourism like Destination – Transportation – Accommodation and Ancillary Services.

Urdu II

Pakistan Studies

1. Critically evaluate the various dynamics and processes related to the study of History.
2. Gain familiarity with key primary sources and academic studies on different aspects of South Asian history in general, and Pakistan in particular.
3. Critically read and analyze texts on history.
4. Develop an ability to challenge meta-narratives of history.

Airport Management

1. Understand airport operations domestic aviation and international aviation knowledge.
2. Learn civil aviation work on airport terminal.

Tourism Management

1. Understand the concept of travel intermediaries, identify distribution network of tour operators, determine the linkages with tourism principles, understand the travel agents’ operations, determine the career opportunities in tourism intermediary business.
2. Learn about travel destinations of the world and their geographic enhancement of tourism in modern times.

1. Acquire knowledge about travel documents like visa, passport and taxes.
2. Learn specific skills to fare solutions.

Practical

Important Note:
1. No payment will be accepted at any institute.
2. All payments are to be made in person at the bank or online payment methods via GGC Website.
3. All invoices must be cleared on time, students with outstanding dues will not be allowed to attend classes.
4. Fee structure is subject to change before beginning of the academic year.
5. Fee are non-refundable and non-transferable.
6. Fee paid on monthly basis will have additional charge of 10% on the invoice amount.
7. Fee above 200,000PKR is subjected to 5% Advance Tax u/s 236 or Income Tax Ordinance.
